(For 26/27 it will take place from November 2nd to December 6th 2026 online) No worries, no prior astro-specific knowledge is needed. You can write the exam via Olyportal.
When is the exam taking place?
This year, we're hosting two rounds of competition! The first round is a 45-minute online exam. The 26/27 edition will take place from November 2nd to December 6th 2026 online.
The second round is an in-person exam, which will take place in Bern from April 03rd to April 04th 2027. The top 6 students from the second round will be selected to represent Switzerland at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) in 2027.
Can I participate if Im going to start studying this summer?
If you are going to be younger than 20 years old on the 1st of July 2027,
and been in a high school on the 1st of January 2027, you are eligible to participate.
